Stunning Arkansas Sunset
Kim Whitten is an avid photographer in northeast Arkansas. Last week,
as she drove on Highway 167 near Ash Flat, Arkansas, she came upon this stunning sunset.
She had to pull over to capture this sky ablaze in orange, pink, red and purple.
Kim also submitted a great Arkansas sunset photo from 2007, also near Ash Flat:
Arkansas Sunset.

Highway 82 In Southern Arkansas
Last month I snapped this photo while pulled over on Highway 82 near the Felsenthal
National Wildlife Refuge, located between El Dorado and Crossett.
Many people overlook the scenic beauty of the timberlands in southern Arkansas,
but it is a "hot spot" for fishing and hunting.
My drive along Highway 82 from El Dorado to
Lake Village
was especially sentimental to me,
as I had not been in this region since
I biked across America in 2008.
Sweet memories!

Float Trip On Buffalo National River
My friend Joy Earles recently went on a float trip with her family on
Buffalo National River.
She did not carry her best camera, but the photo above (taken with her cell phone camera)
is a decent shot. Ahhhh ... such beautiful greenery, with shade and cliffs surrounding the river. What a great way to spend a
lazy, hazy summer day in Arkansas! (June 21, 2010)
